It is with great sadness that we have heard the news that Lorna Craig, deputy head of Richard Lee Primary School (1991- 2016) has passed away. Our whole school community is extremely saddened by her passing.
Lorna has been the ‘golden person’ of Richard Lee. She has made a difference to so many children, staff and parents over the 25 years she worked here. She was an inspirational teacher, deputy, mentor and colleague who always had time for people, who went the extra mile and did so with great kindness and thoughtfulness.
Lorna was a steadying hand across time and her impact and legacy still continues in the people she has touched. On her last day at Richard Lee, her clear and simple message to children was, to ‘work hard and be kind’ – something she did all her life.
Lorna had a real zest for life and a fabulous sense of humour! Our whole school community is grateful to have known Lorna and to have benefitted from her thoughtful care and professional wisdom.
